The New Childrens Museum, San Diego Reviews - Write a Review
I have been to numerous museums around the world, and Children's Museum in San Diego is one of my favorite museums for kids! I am an artist and educator, and I get inspired every time I go to this museum. There is so much to explore in this innovative, interactive environment. Variety of exciting tools and materials are easily accessible for children and adults to create. There are numerous themed playrooms that spark imagination and invite kids to get creative while learning.
This place is like a little child's dream come true, it's made spacial for them. There are play areas designated for specific age ranges. Kids and adults have to remove their shoes in certain play areas; I recommend socks. Pictures opportunities are left and right. They also have a cafe/lunch area where you can buy food, but if your child is a picky eater or you don't want to spend, bring your own lunch. Memberships are the best option in my opinion. All in all this place is great fun for parents and children.
Always a blast. We're members and come several times a year. Always something new to discover or rediscover. It's nice because as an art museum they periodically change the theme and artists/installations. Beautiful building. Nice outdoor space across the street to play, picnic and watch trolley and downtown life go by. Parking can be challenging. Lot is often full. Street parking is usually available, but costs and you only get 2 hours on the meter.
Really neat exhibits. Great fun for kids, although bottom floor was closed due to another event. That would have been nice to know before buying the tickets...
This place is amazing! My son loved it so much we didn't make it past the first floor. Good thing we are now members! Looking forward to going back.
