Just south of La Jolla Shores Park, this children's playground is wide open, brightly grassy and palm tree lined. A line of shrubs separates the park from the boardwalk, making keeping watch over the kids easier. This is one of the few shoreline parks in the city almost directly on the beach rather than on a bluff top. Nice place for the sunset. -

There are fewer than 50 of this miniature children's train model. Its three minute ride courses through a half mile of Balboa Park.
