  • Nice people but they don’t really know what they’re doing, which makes renting a car here generally a hassle. This is in line with other Avis locations, generally the staff is not well trained/not very professional. Have been to this location multiple times.

  • Had a hard time finding my car, they gave up after a half hour. Good location but limited on cards

  • One of the worst car rental experiences I've ever had. They are terrible and I don't think they care. They gave me a dirty car after waiting for an hour. It was a compact and I paid for a full size. They charged me for prepaid gas when I asked them several times not to. They told me to show my gas receipts to the attendant in the city where I dropped it off to have the charge removed. The attendant looked at me like it was the dumbest thing he'd ever heard. He spent 10 minutes on the computer taking it off. Seattle airport Avis was awesome. SF was garbage.

  • Car was decent. Customer service was awful. 1)Tried to use a valid coupon for a free vehicle upgrade... didn't receive it. 2) Was told the Avis gas option #1 was the best choice for the distance I was traveling. They charged $45 for a quarter of a tank - on a 10 gallon tank. Plus the gas price changed 10% from when I picked the car up to when I dropped it off (same day). 3) I prepaid for my car and they tried to double charge me for the same vehicle. The 2nd charge was twice the original price I paid. 4) The manger on staff (Davona) was unacceptably rude to my fiancé and myself. She continuously put all the blame on her employees. I STRONGLY ADVISE using a different rental service.

  • Bad experience. Car model was alright however the condition it was handed to me was appalling. While I can overlook a major dent on the fender (circled in red), I must say the rubber sealant that came off (circled in yellow) the windscreen was another level to tolerate. On the freeway, the rubber was flapping and hitting the passenger window. The noise it created was unbearable. I pulled over to put the sealant back in place; five minutes later it came off again. As this may not have been brought to Avis' attention earlier, I took the car back halfway through the rent and reported it. The person who attended to me was indifferent with the situation only putting the sealant back even though I told him it doesn't work. He replied "at some point this car will be gone if the condition worsens". This is not the first. I was assured in an email from J. Arellano/ L. Thornberg following the feedback of my previous bad experience that Avis will aim to "exceed my expectation" on my next booking. Clearly they haven't. I have also provided suggestions to make amends but have yet to hear a response from either of them for more than a month now. What more can I say or do? I hope this review helps others make a decision on Avis. Before Avis, I have had many good experiences with Alamo located nearby at Union Square (320 O'Farrell); unfortunately they're all booked up for the time that I needed the car. Update: J. Arellano contacted me for a resolution on the previous feedback.
