The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, or provincially the Bay Bridge, is a couple of extensions facilitating the crossing of the San Francisco Bay. As a major aspect of Interstate 80 and the immediate roadway between San Francisco and Oakland, it conveys more or less 280,000 vehicles every day on either of the two decks. It is famous for being one of the longest spanning bridges in the world. Beautiful and elegant, the bay has a lane dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists. There’s even the occasional Light Show.

Traffic is crazy on this but it is fun to drive here with the good views of downtown.

  • I am wondering why you have pictures of bridges that are ostensibly in San Francisco but are not either of their famous bridges--the Bay Bridge or the Golden Gate. Forgive me, but that's stupid.
