The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland is an important historic monument. It was built in 1909, and is an architectural beauty. Its interiors are like a maze, inspired by Moorish and Gothic art. There are thousands of urns, shaped like archaic vases and books, which add to the beauty of the chapel. Its exquisite designs include ornate stonework, statues, gardens, fountains and mosaics. No monument in Oakland can be paralleled with this one.
Apart from the services it offers, it also plays host to annual music fests. Take a walk into this chapel, and appreciate its loveliness.

Chapel Of The Chimes Oakland Reviews & Ratings
Elsie Mary Swyers.. My Grandmother is at rest. This place is peaceful and and the staff working. Awesome. Can't say enough. They found my grandmother within minutes. Thank you.
Trying to coordinate with Chapel of the Chimes has been a source of grief for my entire family. They dropped the ball multiple times after my dad's passing. It's been about four months since he's passed away and even though we paid for the service and the niche, his niche is still missing the name plaque. How is this possible? This is what they claim on their website but it's been the complete opposite experience for us: "At Chapel of the Chimes, we understand that losing someone you love is one of life’s most difficult experiences, and that’s why it’s so important to us that our clients feel like an extension of our own family. Our incredible team of professionals have many years of experience, and as we comfort families in times of loss, we work tirelessly to ensure they’re all treated with compassion and respect." We were not treated with compassion or respect, and they have caused us even greater grief due to their negligence.
Beautiful cemetery/ chapel, Well worth a visit.
This place failed to get our mother finger printed as promised and now we have no way of getting the keepsake finger print tag. We also begun to question everything that was suppose to have been done . We never got her old clothes and we don't know what happened to the new ones we brought them. We were lied to about the finger prints, from Jaguar and Victoria Bell. This started 12/17/2018 and we still have yet to get any response concerning the finger prints, today. We have no idea if our Mother was the one that was cremated, without prints and not getting the clothes back. It's hurtful and we are devastated. Just tell us the TRUTH! Would not recommend this place for anyone of melinated skin. I'm hearing other cases of foul play concerning the departed and the survivors. No closure and added more pain to our grieving. Chapel of the chimes treated us horribly. At this time my family and I are very happy with the immediate response from the owner concerning the issues we had with this Chapel. RESOLVED! It's not often that a company Director reaches out and respond to disgruntled customers to make sure they are put back whole and resolve their issues. This has happened and we are more than satisfied with the empathy and compassion that Mr. Williams has shown us and has now given us closure for the past situation. For that, five stars are given.
It was not a good experience during our time of grief. Me and my sister went to make arrangements for my mom on Monday December 17th. When we got home she had passed away 20 min later. We called all everyone that needed to be called, she was picked up that night. All was good up to that time. We had our services, great. We were told the cremation process would be 10 days, we asked about her finger print to be done for special process that requires them. 10 days later she was not cremated and no one notified us. We had made plans for a destination disposal NONREFUNDABLE, No apology was given, to add insult to injury no one could verify if the finger print was done. Instead Victoria told my sister Jaquar was new and dropped the ball, instead of looking into the situation. I had called and left a message still no response from Victoria... We finally got the Urn/remains on January 5,2019 with still no apology for my experience. My feelings were not only hurt but I am unable to get my closure from my mother's death. I am truly hoping my treatment was not because I am Afro American..... I should have been made to feel less than human, like my mom and our grieving process did not matter as we me and my sister left phone calls and messages to get no response until my sister left her review and was asked to change the content to further add more pain to our grieving process......😢
