The Coit Tower, otherwise called the Lillian Coit Memorial Tower, is a 64 m tall tower located on the Pioneer Park, Telegraph Hill. It was built in 1933 in honor of Lillie Hitchcock Coits, who died in 1929, an eccentric, trendsetter and a diehard San Francisco lover. She was wearing trousers long before it was acceptable for women to do so. She played a prominent role in developing San Fransico’s firefighting efforts. Upon her death, she bequeathed a third of her fortune to the city, to be used to beautify it. The tower is a highly popular attraction and as such there’s often a long traffic line for access. The rotunda at the top, from where one can catch beautiful views of the city, is free to visitors and covered in beautiful Murals. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by San Francisco itinerary 7 days.

An interesting place with good views of the city. The murals on the inside were nice but the elevator was scary.

  • Most amazing views over Bay Area, Financial District, Alcatraz, Golden Gate, Lombard St....etc. Be early, around 10.30 to avoid crowds. 😎

  • Nice tower on top of telegraph hill. Couldn’t see from top as we reached late. Tickets closed at 4.30 pm. Lobby of tower is excellent with lot of paintings

  • I wanted to see a nice SF view from the coit tower. If you want to go top of the tower, the enter fee is $9.00 for one adult. The view was really nice and you can actually see 360° of beautiful SF view. I went there in the daytime! But sunset time must be very romantic. The parking seems free but limited. So I would recommend to go here by Uber or by bus. It's good hiking course if you love long distance walking.

  • Nice view of the city, unfortunately it opens a bit late (10am). Use the stairs to walk up, that's a nice experience too.

  • Awesome place for visiting San Francisco. Coit Tower is one of San Francisco’s most recognizable landmarks and a place everyone should add to list when traveling . We can see the all of city view of San Francisco.
