The Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory is a long standing landmark bakery serving homemade fortune cookies in various shapes, sizes, and colours. Their tiny kitchen is open to all to see how the dough is kneaded, how the cookies are given their shape, how they are moulded, and how the final topping of covering is added. Free tours are offered throughout the week. You can see the origin of the aroma of freshly baked cookies at the kitchen, while the friendly workers will heartily show you around. The baker will show you how the circular thin sheet of cookie is pulled off the hot press and without letting it cool off or harden, it is shaped with a steel rod of a fortune. As an added bonanza, you will get to taste the freshly baked cookies on-site before exploring the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory shop.

Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory Reviews & Ratings
I would highly recommend taking the time to visit. We took my 10 and 12 year old. They loved seeing how the cookies are made. They created their own fortune and made their own cookie. The owner is very kind and is trying his best to keep the business alive after four generations. Worth seeing!
Worth a little visit if you're in the area. Can pick up a fresh cookie direct from the makers for a small tip. Not much bigger than your front room this place is down a rather unassuming back alley. You can watch them choose the fate of thousands as they select a fortune and wrap it in the delicious and still warm little cookies.
Loved this place. I’ve been eating fortune cookies 🥠 for a while now at different restaurants. However, never realized how it was made and it was an absolute delight visiting place to see it in person. It tastes great and you can buy varieties of different flavors. Must do if you visit SF.
The fortune cookie factory was very interesting I would recommend going here only if you are already planning on visiting the area. It is a fairly short experience and you only get to walk in about ten feet. They do have interesting fortune cookie options such as chocolate coated and strawberry.
Very neat place. It was cool to watch the cookies being made. They gave out delicious free samples to everyone in line and put extras in my bag. You can even have cookies made with custom messages! They are also very affordable compared to other tourist spots in San Francisco.
