Its pretty common knowledge that San Fran is expensive but this location was the cheapest (and absolute best) meal of our trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. We had a late dinner and watched the sun set. This diner has the absolute best view we found! We even got to watch a whale play around in the distance. I ordered a burger, which was delicious for 11 bucks! My friend who is a vegan was able to eat there as well. Note: this location is CASH ONLY!
It's a nice little breakfast diner to have there. The food was decent and waitress was very nice and her service was helpful. Other than that.... I loved the scenic view through their large windows of the beach on the end cliffs edge of the land shores! Though it was a cloudy morning it was still a sight to admire and make me wanna bring my own company another time.
The only reason people eat here is because the ocean views are second only to the Cliff House. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Service is hit or miss. The restaurant is very old and desperately needs updating. Cash only last time I visited. Expect long waits for be seated on weekends and holidays. Lots of tourists mainly. Locals don't bother. If you want to pay this much for food with an ocean view, just go to the Cliff House and RSVP for an ocean view table in advance. I just can't recommend this place, even with its history and views.
The views are beautiful and the food was good, but the service was subpar. The prices are good though, so if you are on a budget like me then this is a great stop. Remember to bring cash, they don't take cards.
I absolutely love Louis'! It is one of the last truly authentic diners left in San Francisco. It is in an incredible location with panoramic views of the ocean, Sutro Baths, and highway 1. I would definitely recommend siting in a booth looking out at the ocean if possible. Louis' has all of your traditional diner favorites including eggs of all styles, pancakes, waffles, etc. all of which is delicious. This isn't your typical San Francisco healthy restaurant, but it definitely satisfies the craving for diner food. This is a great place to go with out of town friends to show them the area or even by yourself for a cup of coffee. The staff is so nice and friendly and they all genuinely care about their customers. Go to Louis'!!
