The Freemasons arrived in California on the heels of the gold rush. Though this location wasn’t the first of their lodges in their city, it was opened as recently as 1958. The venue is today used as public event and concert house. Outside of shows, its tourist value is owed to the beautiful architecture. The great frieze on the façade depicts the eternal struggle between good and evil. There’s a giant mosaic window inlaid with soil from each of the California’s 58 counties, as well as “metal, parchment, felt, linen, silk, natural foliage, veggie pieces, shells and sea life, and stained glass”. Outside, there’s aEmile Norman war memorial sculpture of the four branches of the military.

Masonic Temple Reviews & Ratings

  • Had an amazing time at The Masonic when we came here for Kesha’s concert in 2017. The venue is in an absolutely beautiful part of the city and has some great views. Architecturally, the space is absolutely awe inspiring. The event staff was great (not necessarily Masonic staff) and getting in and out of the venue was very easy. I hope to see more awesome shows at the Masonic, seems to be smaller groups that utilize this space due to the more limited size of the space.

  • This is the headquarters of the flagship California men's fraternity. The building is lovingly maintained and a cultural center for the City. In addition to serving its members statewide, it is a phenomenal place to showcase the arts. I'd love to see a concert here.

  • It's a pretty large venue, I guess? I'll be honest, there's not really much to comment .... The chairs are nice? Actually, on that note, don't ever try to reach forwards or lift up your bum slightly off these chairs. They flip back up so quickly, you're definitely gonna be falling on your bum when you try to sit back down. Otherwise, the stage is ... well lit? The washroom has a lot of stalls? yes. good venue.

  • Great small venue. Very accommodating. Polite helpful staff. Full bars on both levels. Offers a varied line up so you can find a show you'd like to see here. Beautiful inside and out. If you haven't been here to see a Live Nation show, you really need to come. Trust me..... you'll love it!

  • A fabulous venue! Large enough to have great energy from the audience and small enough that all seats really do have an at least alright view :) Would strongly recommend seeing a live show here. Note: if anyone in your party has mobility issues, book tickets only in ground floor seats since there is no easy elevator access to balcony seats. Enjoy the show!
