Monterey Bay Aquarium - Seafood Watch Program Reviews & Ratings

  • Beautiful aquariums and well kept place. Lots of things to learn. Staffs were very friendly, they will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding the animals an plants seen inside Monterey Bay Aquarium. I've already visited the place twice and I will definitely come back again

  • My favorite exhibit was the otters. They are so fun to watch! There were a lot of other cool animals to see too. If you want to park anywhere near the place, go early. We went in the afternoon, on a Saturday, and the place was very crowded. We parked at Fisherman's wharf ($2/hr) since we knew we wouldn't be there all day. If you are going to do a lot in area, park in the parking garage for $7/day. Either way, you can take the free trolley. We walked there on a nice pedestrian path and took the trolley back. If you can, go on a weekday so it's not so crowded! It's pretty expensive, so I don't think we'll visit again, but it was fun to see once.

  • The Aquarium has some of the best exhibits anywhere. The various species if jelly fish are mesmerizing. The huge tank hold some of the larger fish of the sea. There is a 3 story tall tank of living kelp with all sorts of sea life. From sea anemones, to beautiful fish, small sharks amongst the kelp. A scuba diver swims in the tank a couple of times to feed the fish by hand. There touch pools & a live sea & shore bird exhibit. The cafeteria serves a variety of good food. I have visited several Aquarium in the U.S. & Australua. It is well thought out. The exhibits change from time to time.

  • An amazing aquarium with beautiful sea life to gaze and admire! I've been coming here since a child and still go today now with my child and it's still just as amazing. Once a year around September if I'm not mistaken it is free for the locals of the Monterey County area so take advantage! Prices a bit expensive but for the experience I would say it's definitely worth it if you're from outside the county and touring.

  • Have been wanting to go go. We got a good discount with my insurance. It was very busy and crowded. But we got whisked in. Very little waiting. This place is huge and worth every penny. Take your time and see all the displays. The octopus was huge and scary looking. They have elevators for the disabled. Another plus is hands on displays.
