The Grove is maintained by the community of those touched by the AIDS epidemic.  It’s a place where people find spiritual healing and solidarity.  Rhododendron flowers and redwood trees create a serene if sombre spot. It is maintained and gardened by volunteers.  There are four major sections:

  • The Circle of Friend -  A small circular stone plaza,  in which is inscribed the names of those touched by the disease.
  • In the middle of the Grove is a sunny meadow.
  • The fern grotto
  • The circle of Peace

National Aids Memorial Grove Reviews & Ratings

  • Probably one of the most quiet and tranquil parts of Golden Gate Park, this is where you go to do lunch with your lady or man. The small redwoods area is amazing. The grass area is medium sized and flat and a good spot to chill. Up further leads to some small trails going uphill next to a tiny but really beautiful and quaint stream. Like I said if you want to relax and meditate, this is a good choice.
