Constucted for the Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915, to exhibit the art of the times, this beautiful exhibition was built in the Beaux-Art style of architecture. Renovated in 1965, the palace is built around a small artificial lagoon, the main purpose of which is to provide the reflection of the structure for a beautiful vista from afar. The swans in the water, flowers in the meadow and gorgeous ceiling make this a lovely destination in most weathers. The three oft repeated panel on the entabulature represents the “Struggle for the Beautiful”. Shows, concerts and events are frequently hosted here. Research before you come.
A beautiful structure to visit, the Palace of Fine Arts is known for its scenic view and nice serene surroundings. Free to visit, there is no Palace of Fine Arts Prices for visiting the site. Gorgeous place. If you have limited time but still wan to take pictures of this classic architecture, stop by at Baker's Street. you'll get a picture square view of the classic building from here along with the beautiful lagoon.
One of the most exciting places to visit in San Francisco. A great place that has a little pond in the middle with turtles, ducks, and a bunch of other animals. The structure it self is really pretty too and bonds really well with the nature of the park.
Couldn’t believe this was in San Fran and not on any lists of things to see/do! Stunning place, stunning replica architecture! On a sunny day, it’s perfect for a picnic or walks around, surrounded by a park and pond the huge structures dwarf you. My friend who lives in San Fran took me here, such a local find and worth visiting!
We stayed close to here on our last trip to SF and it was amazing. Walked over to it with our coffee and had a nice morning stroll. Amazing!
