This pirate themed bar is hailed as one of the best in the world. Inside, the place is decked out to look like a ship. The detail is intense - rope, lanterns, anchors, pools of water, fishing buoys and row upon row of ancient bottles of rum. Indeed, rum is what you’re here to drink, in over 75 variations of cocktails. The rum is practically a historically significant collection - the labels are from British Royal Navy, Prohibition, Donn Beach - and also from all over the world. The bar also produces its own tiki cocktails. Flamboyant and imaginative, the bar is must visit. Ask the staff anything.

  • Great bar! Is all themed as a Caribbean pirate cove and drinks are excellent. You can not see a lot from outside but once you enter the place is a great discovery. Good attention and service.

  • I've visited Smugglers Cove a few times now, when ever I’ve been here in San Fran lately and it's always a delight. The beers have been incredible. They offer a wide variety of beers from IPAs to sours. The staff is always friendly and there to help you with your selection. The meals are also delicious, although they are a little on the pricey side. I usually go for the burger, and it has never disappointed. This bar can get crowded at times, but I usually can find a spot in the back of the bar. Definitely check this place out! a plus plus plus from me

  • Great fun bar! It can definitely get packed during weekends, but the drinks were great and the crowd was fun. The line wasn't too bad. The inside is a little right but It does have three floors. I don't even remember what I got but I'm pretty sure anything you get will be delicious.

  • An amazing little place I stumbled into. It’s very small but has great vibes and actual AC, gasp! It’s good for group settings or just a couple but does get packed as the night goes on. Perfect happy hour place and not many people till after it’s over. Only down side is there is usually only one bartender per floor so it may take a while for your amazingly delicious drinks to come out.

  • We planned a four-day “cocktail tour” to San Francisco, and Smuggler’s Cove was by far our favorite destination out of the many bars we visited. The tiki setting, the quality and diversity of Martin Cate’s famed drinks menu, the amazing flavors... they all made it a great experience. Highly recommend!
