The building itself is a non-profit arts and education center for women, and serves 20000 women every year. It’s laudable efforts to empower women is greatly helped by its greatest cultural asset – The Mural.
The Mural was painted by seven women - Juana Alicia, Miranda Bergman, Edythe Boone, Susan Kelk Cervantes, Meera Desai, Yvonne Littleton and Irene Perez. Covering both the exterior and interior, it features icons, images and illustrations of more than 600 women from history and fiction. It gives the building a striking façade, and is a powerful contribution to San Francisco’s mural and street art legacy.

Women's Building Mural Reviews & Ratings
Don't know what I would do without this community space! I love attending events here and it's a big part of my life in San Francisco. Beautiful murals painted on the building. Supports all kinds of local interest groups and their events. Film series, advocacy, etc. etc. I only know about a small portion of all the great stuff that goes on here. Stray observation - this place seems to be a tour stop for walking tours through the Mission.
Fabulous building wherein all are welcome. Many programs to assist with health, wellness, legal issues and more. Truly a beautiful atmosphere plus the mural is profoundly powerful. What a gem for those who live in that community.
I haven't been inside, but the mural on the building is beautiful and inspiring.
Access to so many different resources and up to date flyers. My family came here to do their taxes for free and received assistance from well-trained staff who also provides translators if needed. The place was beautifully painted and there's a very friendly attitude all around. Everyone seem friendly and ready to provide assistance. There was free snacks available in the waiting room. Could benefit from a little deep cleaning.
The art on the building is pretty cool.Only seen the place from the outside, but a lot of necessary helpful for/to (to women, for women)women goings ons and events take place here. So look it up if your a woman. Men should have a special building too.
