This stunning and historic site is worth a visit while in San Jose. The name of the church and its patron saint also happen to be the name of the city making it a very important landmark there.
The simplicity and elegance of the place is certainly worth noting. The grand building is beautiful inside out. The lovely altar and the spectacular domed ceiling make this place a very popular tourist attraction. The white walls contrast beautifully with the colorful paintings and carvings on the walls.
The Roman Catholic Basilica built in the year 1885 has endured beautifully over time and is a wonderful spiritual place to visit in San Jose. It also hosts religious music concerts, which are a wonderful experience.

Cathedral Basilica Of St. Joseph Reviews & Ratings
Nice architecture. It is a Roman Catholic church in San Jose downtown. Parking is bit a problem here. Interior of the large dome is excellent. The basilica is in the name of Saint Joseph. The Odell pipe organ is nice, which was built in 18th century.
This once-beautiful basilica has, like so many others, been defaced by vandals infected with the Spirit of Vatican II. This is one of the worst wreckovations I've seen, which is impressive. Achievement unlocked, I guess. On the positive side, you can spend an entertaining five minutes playing Where's Waldo to find the Tabernacle.
Lovely church, great walls decorations and great musicians. Couldn't assist to the word but there was nice to go
Busy church, very well run. Main church of this area (Diocese of SJ), and old, so all sorts of splendor at all times. Beautiful and formal, but not stuffy. Very welcoming and warm people in all positions, professional, volunteer, religious and lay (civilian, if you will). Good facilities for events, large hall. Parking close, mostly paid/metered. This is the kind of church you want to put on your Sunday best for!
Beautiful church, very serene. Parking is the worst though. It's located downtown San Jose and going to mass on a Sunday while and event is going on at Ceasar Chavez park is wry stressful. Be prepared to walk a distance.
