The Happy Hollow Park and Zoo is another great family entertainment place in the city of San Jose. It is a zoo and an amusement park in one enormous complex. If you are travelling with kids, this multi-attraction is not to be missed.

The zoo area has an amazing variety of healthy animals on display. Kids will love to see the mammals, birds, and reptiles in fascinating displays. The wild cats are a definite must visit.

The amusement park area is full of excitement and a lot of fun. The merry-go-rounds and rides are a hit with the children while the adults can eat yummy street-food at the kiosks. Even besides these there are quite a few interesting attractions like the crooked house, the lookout and the ranch exhibit. With so much to do it is the prefect weekend getaway.

  • This is a great place for young kids to blue of some energy. My kids are 2 and 4.5 and they love going there. Annual pass is not that expensive and we have used it lots. There is a small zoo, some rides, play ground, and a puppet show theater. The tallest ride height requirement is 36".

  • Awesome little zoo/little kid amusement park! Easy to get to, cheap (~$15/person with under 2 free), and chock full of little rides, exhibits, animals, and activities to keep the kids amused all day. It definitely gets hot, even in the fall (we went in October and we still ended up a little sunburned and dehydrated), but that's San Jose for you. It's cool that this place is run by the City of San Jose too. Thanks for the great time!

  • I loved This place my daughter rode the rollar coaster for her 3rd birthday, went to the wacky house, saw a ton of animals in the zoo part, played on the different playgrounds, went to the petting section, had lunch in the cafeteria and there's a face painting booth and puppet shows and lots of really cool stuff there. Parking is like 10 bucks but I am totally planning on getting our family a season pass because there are so many cool things to do! Plus the staff is super nice.

  • Great place near downtown San Jose for a day's trip, especially if you have kids around. They will just love it. For the price you pay for admission ($14.25 for anyone over 2 years), and food is extra, you get to have a lot of fun! Check out their website for memberships and other deals. Must visit if you are in San Jose and will recommend it to everyone as a day's worth of trip. About the zoo, nothing much to write home about, but it's the park that is actually pretty awesome and clearly the showstopper. Kids dig the rides, spacious greenery and very peaceful atmosphere once you are in! Have fun folks, thank me later!

  • Really great for small children.... Probably mostly under 6? Inexpensive, clean. It's not the Happy Hollow from 25 years so. Much improved! Lost a star for the employees. Most seen to be just bored and wish they weren't there. That's a bummer. But for the entrance fee, they probably aren't being paid well.
