Luquillo Beach, San Juan Reviews
One of my favorite beaches! The water is super calm, the restaurants located there are great! Atms on site, public facilities and parking. Definitely a locals type beach with families cooking out and enjoying the great water and sand.
The parking is closed but we just parked outside of the entrance like everyone. It was a nice beach. Not very crowded during the week. You can walk to the kioskos to eat if you’d like. Overall good experience here
It's a great protected and clean beach which gets you a little into the country out of the San Juan tourist zones. I've been going here for over 30 years but was a bit apprehensive this year due to the storms. I was told the beach only opened last week over 6 months after Maria. There's only a dozen or so folks here but the beach and facilities look no worse for wear and tear. Driving here was a little more testy than usual. Seems that traffic lights aren't a high priority to fix. But in my 35 years of coming to Puerto Rico traffic lights seemed to be treated as a suggestion. I guess I'm just getting old :).
Went there for lunch and some Medallas before hurricane Maria. Had to escape from my paradise homeland. Looking forward to returning once the infrastructure is more reliable.
Absolutely spectacular beach. Amazing water and the sand has an orange hue to it and is softer than some of the other beaches in Puerto Rico. Check this beach out when in Puerto Rico you'll be happy you did.
