Museo De Casa Blanca - Review

Casa Blanca or the ‘White House’ was the first building built in 1521. It was built as a house for Ponce de Leon but he died before it could be completed. His descendants stayed till the 18th century. It was later a military station during the Spanish American Wars. It was in 1967 the Puerto Rican government took over its maintenance and later declared it as historical monument. Now a museum the Casa Blanca still houses everything in the same way as it was then. The furniture, the decor, the rooms from the 16th century all kept in pristine condition. The house also offers a stunning view of the San Juan bay form the gardens outside.

Museo De Casa Blanca, San Juan Reviews

  • Beautifully located and quiet. Gardens are pretty and the views are gorgeous. Not a lot of people.

  • I absolutely love it! Great learning experience! Also, the garden is to die for!

  • Gra historia, bien preservado

  • Reached this place by accident. Never had heard of this museum. Although facilities need improvement I have to admit that essence of it is outstanding (well if your a history geek). Definitely will visit again to see the different artistic movements that take place here.

  • A quieter museum in Old San Juan. The interiors were basically undamaged by the storms, and the gardens have since been returned to an appreciable state. Excellent for learning about construction styles changing over the centuries. Also great for picturesque views of the water and old town in general. Lovely cats roaming about too!
