San Luis Obispo has an attraction which is unique, weird yet one just can’t ignore it. And the attraction is the oh so popular Bubblegum Alley! Once a landmark of rivalry between the students of San Luis Obispo High School and California Polytechnic State University, the alley is 15 foot high and 70 foot long and is located in the 700 block of Higuera Street in SLO. The alley has featured in several films and television shows. In addition, many poets and authors have described this alley in their respective creations. While some find it disgusting, others are totally okay with it! Overall, a place which is miles apart from museums and religious places, but still is worth visiting.

  • It’s definitely much smaller than the one in Seattle but it’s kinda cute. It could be easily missed if you weren’t looking for it. Right next door to Ambiance which is a boutique/store. If you are in town you can check it out but if you missed it, it’s no big deal. You aren’t missing out on much. I would rather you check out the mission!

  • We had quite the adventure going out of our way to visit this town. We saw the bubble gum wall listed online as a tourist attraction. We almost didn't go because it sort of sounded like it was going to be gross, but the "attraction" led us to a pleasant lunch outdoors by a creek and buying some art and souvenirs.

  • Pretty gross but still fun to see!! Plus it's in the middle of a great stores and restaurants!! Makes you wonder how this trend even started!!

  • It's grossly intriguing!! Definitely a big catch for people to take pictures there. Every foot of it is different... You can find some pretty artistic pieces there! Along with what seems to be a newer fad going on there, love notes and heart circles names forever written on the gum wrappers... Cool just to check it out.

  • Very cool spot. A lot smaller then I expected but cool place to stop if travelling in Cali. Both sides of the alley were absolutely covered in bubblegum which was pretty interesting.
