About Zurriola Beach, San Sebastian

This beach is extremely popular amongst people mainly because it is perfect for practicing a number of sports especially surfing. The beach was earlier known as the Gros Beach and was mostly filled with people from the Gros apart from the tourists and other locals. This beach has played host to many World Championships.

You will majorly find young people in the main part of the beach playing and practicing surfing, beach volley. There is also a serene part of the area just on the right side of the beach. This is more popular with families and people who do not like to be in crowded areas.

Zurriola Beach Information

  • The right side of the Dike where you will find the Beach- Volleyball courts is a more dangerous part for swimming, especially for children. The current is too high in this part and high tides are also common.
  • Locker rooms, showers, beach shacks and bars are available here.

  • Quite peaceful beach. Not as crowded and in the eyes of everyone as the concha. You can surf if you feel like it. There's some rental places for it.
