A vihara is the Sanskrit term for a Buddhist monastery that propagates and preserves the religion in its holy sanctum. Generally, they used to be the dwelling house of the Buddhist monks who practiced their religion and meditation here. Located few kilometres from Sanchi, the Buddhist vihara preserves the relics of Buddha and his followers in a glass casket on a platform in the inner chamber. Made up of wood and beautifully carved, this vihara looks astonishing and a rare piece of architecture.
