While the main Stupa predominates Sanchi, there is another Stupa that requires equal admiration and attention. The number 2 Stupa stands at the very edge of the hill and looks an exquisite piece of art work with striking feature of the stone balustrade that encircles it. This stupa is approximately 39 feet in diameter and 22½ feet in height and looks magnificent even till today. On the balustrade that surrounds this Stupa, you will see a number of female deities and a great variety of real and mythological animals including winged lions, horse-headed and fish-headed humans, elephants, snakes and bulls making it look like Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Do spare some time to admire its architecture and to be bewitched by it.

Sanchi Stupa No. 2, Sanchi Reviews - Write a Review
The most well maintained Tourist Spot in Central India. Clean and Picturesque. A peaceful place. Needs a good restaurant which is the only drawback. Guides are soft-spoken and won't chase you. Audio Guide is available too. If one is lucky, peacocks can be spotted too....
This is a beautiful world heritage site. The stupas at Sanchi are among the most well preserved in India. Although not directly hallowed by any incident in the Buddha's life, Sanchi is one of the most popular sites on the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit. Spanning a period from 3rd century BC, these monuments offer a wide canvas of Buddhist art and architecture.
Its historic place under Archeological Survey of India. Neat and clean. Big green grass loan. Monuments very well maintained. Good place for spending 2-3 hrs. Good place for photography.
This amazing place is very beautiful from both Natural as well as Historical point of view. Few hours i spent there were like eternal peace to me as i will never gonna forget those moments i lived there !!!
History in reality form. After seeing the magnanimity of the structure and the perfect alignments of huge brick stones weighing into tonnes, one can clearly say that our ancestors were actually advanced than us. Kudos to ASI for its maintanance. Deserves five stars. After all it is the place from where our National Symbol comes
