The name of the site is in reference to the windswept dunes which dominate the landscape and offer a huge space for walking, giving outstanding views of the bay. The coastline as seen from here is a sight not to be missed, with whales being spot at times. If you love to take long walks on the beach you just cannot afford to miss this wonderland. Having a picnic area with absolutely remarkable scenery in the background is not something you find all the time. The trails are lovely and so are the surroundings. So hit the beach and fall in love with the sea.

  • Great place to take the kids to the beach since it's so secluded. People don't often know of the beaches here because it's a trail that is right behind the edgewater shopping plaza. If you want to take a side trip when your out shopping one day then this is the place you need to go for sure!

  • Enjoyable beach. My kids loved collecting the pieces of glass that have been there since the old glass factories. Good place to see at least once and the actual beach is nice.

  • I rode my bicycle along the bike trail. The trail is paved, well maintained, scenic, and separate from the highway and roads, thus quite safe. The trail is still close enough to hear traffic noise. Much of the dune area is sensitive habitat and thus off limits, but there are many beautiful views of the ocean and Monterey Bay.

  • Was very nice but got parking ticket 🎟

  • Nice chill beach. Most of it not suitable for swimming though.
