This beautiful, little park is located on the banks of Kings River. Natural settings make this a perfect place for family outings. There are many picnic sites around the park. Camping is also an option as some designated spots are scattered in the premises. Take your favourite book and you can sit on the shores of the river for hours. Or if you are coming with a family, then let kids play in the open area in between while you are relaxing. So, next time you are in Fresno County, you know where to head with your picnic basket.

Choinumni Park Reviews & Ratings

  • It was nice, but the areas with shade had quite a strong current. Great for family with older kids and good swimmers. Good fishing too.

  • I love going there. Community service workers shouldn't do all the work..... people that camp there should clean up after themselves. It's gotten dirty. I'll still pick up some people's trash but I can't do it all. Pick up after yourselves.

  • It has bathrooms, a fawcet you can hook a water hose upto, BBQ pits table's and a river. Lots of trees. Love it❣️

  • The Kings River is a world class waterway. Named by early Spanish explorers, it generally flows to the Tulare Lake in its natural state. There it evaporated, leaving its dissolved minerals behind. In droughts this inland lake dried up. In wet cycles it was the largest water body in the State. Choinumni Indians lived nearby and used the river for many aspects of their life. Choinumni Park has day use and camping areas right on the river below Pine Flat Dam and Lake. Take Belmont Avenue from Highway 99 to the sign for Pine Flat Dam HQ, east of Piedra Road. Day trip, camping, or beginning a multi-day trip upriver, you'll like it.

  • Always a great get away for me and the family quiet and friendly a river near by multiple clean well stocked bathrooms. Fire pits and water spouts at every camp sight and friendly staff as well. Live this place.
