Bowman's Beach Reviews & Ratings
Beautiful, beautiful beach. Wide open spaces. Tons of tiny shells, if you don't feel up to digging for bigger ones in the tide. I went during a storm-- I would not advise doing that although it was already mostly past-- but I couldn't help myself, this beach was calling to me. Last day of a mid-August vacation as well. This is a great beach area overall. Clean bath houses and restrooms, playground and picnic tables, outdoor shower 'towers' in an appealing plaza-style section, lots of wooded spaces if you need shade to cool off, a gorgeous boardwalk that goes over a wetlands area and then meanders over the waterway as a wider bridge, and then onto the beach. Really, really nice. A bit of a hike, you need to be up for a moderate trek but mostly on level ground. You do have to pay for parking, unlike our favorite North Carolina beaches that are free free free. But glad I got to experience it before heading home.
This time of year is great! Low crowds, pretty much you can get your choice of spot to park your butt and just sit and relax or hunt down that elusive perfectly shaped shell. The Gulf waters are nice and warm this time of year and fairly calm. Definitely a family friendly location. I highly recommend this beach 👍 Just be aware, if you're not renting from a condo or using a hotel, there's public parking but the fee is 5 dollars an hour. Also, there's no shelter or tree cover, so bring plenty of sun screen and a pop up shelter
Nice beach and wonderful facilities but it is a LONG hike to the beach from the parking area. We had someone with us that has walking difficulties and was not able to make it all the way to the beach. They stayed at picnic area that is about 1/3 way to beach. Wouldn’t recommend if your not wanting to walk a ways to get to the beach.
Clean and just beautiful! Parking is 5$ per hour, but for us it seemed fair as the toilets were super clean, there is a nice playground and also the possibility to barbecue. Everything is really tidy which makes it a great beach experience. And yes, there are literally millions of shells to be seen.
Beautiful beach, clean. Nice gentle slope into the Gulf. Great place for young and old alike. Hope you can enjoy it as well!
