You will get a majestic view of the natural park here from the top and this is the sole reason for its popularity among the hikers. There are plenty of stops on the trail where you can buy snacks and get refreshed in the washrooms. You must come here with proper sports shoes and other necessary items as the road in between the two mountains is quite slippery. The guides will provide valuable inputs about the volcanic range here which is mostly in a dormant condition. From the top of the volcano, you will be thrilled to watch the gigantic craters with a lot of lagoons and a lot of birds in the Lake Coatepeque.

  • Got a guided tour from Tibet restaurant and we walked up the volcano, stopping periodically to take photos. At the top it's windy and dry with spectacular views of the crater lake and the surrounding landscape. The tour guide only asked for a donation, it was well worth it.

  • If you have any doubts about visiting this magnificent vulcano don't! The views from the top are amazing and the crater with sulphur is truly magnificent. We also wanted to go with the 11 AM tour but a guide said we could join him. We decided to hitchhike back to Santa Ana and we were back at 2 PM! There is a lot of police on the vulcano so no troubles there.

  • A good experience to climb this volcano wonderful view, the tour is in English and Spanish, love it

  • Amazing trip. The landscape is breathtaking and so is the long walking, so you better be prepared. If you love nature this is a very good opportunity for 4 hrs max walk.

  • If you are up for a tougher activity, you must add this to your list! 12 km up and 12 km down, but so worth it. Go with a guide, bring a liter of water and a few snacks. The diverse terrain and stunning views from all sides are worth the sweat.
