Loro Parque, Santa Cruz De Tenerife Reviews
Perfect trip out for everyone! Went as a couple and spent a whole day here. We read a review that said to go left as soon as you enter rather than following everyone over the bridge and it was such good advice, we had the park basically to ourselves, no cramped viewing in the shark tunnel or queues up to the treetop walkway! We recommend you plan ahead which shows to go to and arrive at them about half an hour early to get good seats, there's always space for everyone though! You're allowed to bring your own food in and there are picnic areas to eat it which is a bonus. There are a couple of tanks/areas that say they have animals they don't which is slightly disappointing (we particularly missed the turtle) but they have so many things to look at it is definitely worth the trip. Our favourite was the conveyer belt around the penguin enclosure!
We did the diamond tour, a little more expensive but the lunch was heaven if you appreciate a good steak. We had great seats for all the shows but we missed the beginning of the dolphin show as there was no way we could get there from the sea lion show in time. Lots of walking but would thoroughly recommend the park for a great day out. We were there from 9.30 to 6.30 and still didn't manage to see it all but you can buy another ticket for 13 euros if you want to go again. If you love penguins you'll be made up!!
Absolutely fantastic start to finish with regard to the facility and animals. Most well kept tidy modern zoo with well looked after happy content looking animals. The orca whales, dolphins, sea lions and penguins were particularly spectacular! Plenty of toilets and eating facilities around the park. Reasonable priced food considering your in a park complex. Very impressive! Only negative things I could say is there are no elephants 🐘 😟 and the 'tour guide' staff at the front entrance are a bit rude and not overly helpful if you don't want to pay extra money for a private guided tour of the whole zoo with a tour guide. We just wanted a map to go ourselves.
Amazing place! Literally spent there half a day with my partner. It's a well kept park, very clean and animals are well taken care of. We didn't get to see the Orca show as they had some technical issues whilst we were there but we have seen all the other shows and truthfully enjoyed that! The dolphins were just amazing 😍😍 *If you want to buy some souvenirs be aware they are quite expensive.. I'm rating 4stars only because of the food in the actual park. We ordered two rolls with drinks and some crisps, the rolls were so hard to eat and just tasted like they were made a few days ago or so. **When you are waiting for the little train in Puerto de la Cruz - be aware people don't wait in the queue, we were standing in the queue and once the train arrived the people at the back ran to get in, totally ignoring the queue 🤣 Just crazy, especially that the pick up is every 20min, some people are worse than the animals 🙄🙄 the staff didn't react, just laughed. I think they should have told them to get back into the queue and wait their time up. Overall definitely a great place for a day out. 🐦🐬
Good day out for all the family. Be at shows early to get a good seat. Easy to get round most places are accessable to those with mobility problems. Food stops around zoo. Toilets are cleaned and staffed. Good variety of animals. All enclosures looked well maintained and good size for relevant animal or bird.Information was good and it was stressed this zoo is here to educate the public and save the animals in danger around the world. The penguin section was the best I've been in and I have been in many. Even the lighting was created to mimic their natural environment. Well thought out zoo.
