Pico Viejo - Review
The second highest peak in the Tenerife, the Pico Viejo is a volcanic peak with a nearby crater of almost 700 metres diameter! A geological marvel, the volcano started forming 200,000 years ago and erupted in 1798 to eject around 12 million m3 of lava for three continuous months- forming the beautiful black nostrils of the Tiede (a series of black lava cover).
Explore the terrain in its rawest form to see a spectacular view in Tenerife.

Pico Viejo, Santa Cruz De Tenerife Reviews
Absolutely lovely hike from Teide (we got up with cable car) to Pico Viejio and down. Be noted that paths are quite rough and should be crossed only with proper hiking shoes and a wind jacket. We have visited the place in end of June and wind jacket and sun hat is a must as the temperatures drop massively at 3km height. Hike itself on a slow pace took good 6 hours, so prepare enough water as well as food to last through. The views made this hike more that we could have hoped for and is clearly a highlight in Tenerife
nice hike up to this peak
