The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz is one of those rare sites where one can themselves visit and check out the apparent anomalies in the laws of nature. Both gravity and basic physics seem not to function over here. Mysticism aside, the Mystery Spot is actually a tilt-stimulated optical illusion, where the peculiar tilt of the floor helps in disorienting the visitor, making their perception of height, depth and orientation go awry. Leave the physics to one side, and visit the Mystery Spot for an unforgettable time.

  • The mystery spot is a good place to go for curious people. They got friendly staff it's easy to find a parking space. They got bathrooms, picnic tables in the shade, cafe/gift shop. Its beautiful and very quiet here and it's not too expensive. They do charge for the parking and tour. I also recommend to bring cash. I wouldn't recommend it for wheelchair access just because its uphill they even don't allow strollers plan accordingly and also wear comfortable shoes. Its family oriented and casual setting.

  • The Mystery Spot is a fun place for a family-friendly experience, and reasonably priced at $8.00 per person, plus $5.00 for parking. It has grown much more popular since my last visit many years ago, so I recommend making reservations. Their website has a very user friendly reservation system, making it easy to plan your trip. The tour guides are fun, and there are a lot of opportunities to participate in the demonstrations. And, of course, there is a gift shop with snacks and souvenirs available. One caveat: the driveway up into the property is ROUGH - think offroading rough. I recommend taking a car with good, but not stiff suspension.

  • Truly hyped up place.. Was expecting a lot more mystery but just saw one spot. Its all optical illusion, nothing much. Area was quiet, fresh and helps get a good break..

  • Cool place to go to if you're ever wondering what the mystery is all about. Took some really cool photos, they even give you those stickers you see on all those cars around town for free! It's a marketing thing but the stickers are cool nonetheless so whatever.

  • Kinda of a tourist trap but it is best and entertaining one I have ever been. I highly recommend visiting it. I feel the parking pass is a scam because I paid for it and no one asked me to prove what vehicle was yours. Because you purchase the pass and parking at same booth and the tour guide collects the recipes.
