The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz is one of those rare sites where one can themselves visit and check out the apparent anomalies in the laws of nature. Both gravity and basic physics seem not to function over here. Mysticism aside, the Mystery Spot is actually a tilt-stimulated optical illusion, where the peculiar tilt of the floor helps in disorienting the visitor, making their perception of height, depth and orientation go awry. Leave the physics to one side, and visit the Mystery Spot for an unforgettable time.

  • Fun outing place nestled in the hills in Santa Cruz, California. The place tends to get quite busy on major public holidays. It is a good idea to call ahead or even book your tickets online if you know the precise time when you will arrive there. The guided tour lasts about 45 minutes. The tour guides are a lot of fun. Our guide was informative and entertaining. I am still bewildered by the gravity defining observations on the tour. We saw a ball roll up on a plank on its own, water when poured down rising up against gravity, and people’s heights appearing very different at different places in the mystery cabin. Perhaps the construction of the cabin accentuates the effects. In the end, a fun tour for kids and adults alike! They have a nice gift shop and a canteen serving a variety of snacks. It was good to see a good selection of vegetarian dishes here.

  • Amazing place with a lot of mystery as its name says. Reasonable price. Got a great tour guide who made the trip more enjoyable. The place is completely surrounded by giant Red wood trees and is so beautiful. Parking is $5 and tickets are $8 each. Make sure to book tickets in advance if you are going on a weekend.

  • Got an awesome tour guide. The loud one. The climb is pretty steep, but short. Not sure if they have noted this on the website. Pricing is reasonable. Great facilities, gift shop and restaurant on site. Loved the surroundings and enclosed by redwoods

  • Fun tourist location. Watch closely for the entrance off the main road, as it is not marked well. Drive up a long gravel path about a mile to the parking lot and go into the gift shop to get your ticket. Tour lasts about 45 minutes and is fun. The angles of the house and surrounding makes good photo opportunities. Would recommend a visit.

  • Awesome!!! Seriously a lot for the price. Our guide (Rainer I think) was super funny and silly in a good way. It was a lot of fun. Did feel a bit dizzy after though tour though... But that's ok, you get better after a few minutes.
