The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk opened its gate back in 1907 and ever since has been one of the favorite entertainment zones in Santa Cruz. The amusement park is in fact the oldest in California, and one of the few seaside ones in the country. Some of the most famous and popular rides of the Beach Boardwalk are Neptune’s Kingdom, The Plunge, mini golf, gaming arcade and the much renowned Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. Also an added advantage of the Boardwalk is that the sandy beaches of Santa Cruz are just a short walk away, making it an ideal attraction to kick start your city tour!

I come here with my best friends to hang out in the arcade and eat delicious funnel cake. The staff are always pretty cool and fun to talk to and the wait times during off season are practically nonexistent! Excited to go ice skating soon!
Here's what you do if you have a baby: if it's fall or winter, wear a jacket. During the holidays, or even normally, there are a lot of props to take your picture and a Seasons Greetings station by the bumper cars to take the perfect holiday greeting card photo. Be sure to take in the Oceanside sunset. We used side streets for parking, seemed alright during the holidays. Have someone find parking while some of the family drops off. Take the baby around to watch ride goers lose their marbles in the amusement park rides or bumper cars. Watch people try to win stuffed animals at the side games. The ladder walk is especially funny. The food and drinks are probably way too unhealthy but they smell nice. Four dollar huge donuts! There's a carousel ride and there should be enough space. Carbon dioxide fills the room quickly. There are a lot of other fun activities like laser adventure and horror ride but that'll have to wait.
Great place to have fun with family and friends. For someone who enjoys rides, the unlimited rides ticket for $29.99 is completely worth it. Me and my friends were there for about 3 hours and we were able to cover pretty much all the rides. You can watch a beautiful sunset and have fun at the beach as well.
This is a good little family beach and such a fun place to visit. I went on a beautiful clear day and was able to enjoy the many attractions on the boardwalk. The holiday set up was beautiful and there was an ice rink, and plenty of photo opportunities!
Very nice, sort of old-school boardwalk and amusement park. Definitely feels like it hasn't changed in decades...which I guess you could interpret in both a good and bad way. But at least it's fairly authentic! Beautiful little town, with amazing ocean views.
