The Cross of the Martyrs is located on top of the hill on Paseo de la Loma. The reinforced concrete cross commemorates the death of 21 Franciscan friars and a number of Spanish colonists during the 1680 Pueblo Revolt. The cross marks a trying time in Santa Fe’s war history. Today, the cross is loved for the view of the whole city and is worth a quick stop when in Santa Fe.

Cross Of The Martyrs Reviews & Ratings
Nice easy hike and probably a great place to watch the sunset. Not too many people in the morning and has good views of the city. It also has some interesting historical facts as well as plaques describing the history of the city.
Came to see the sunset on a rainy night in Santa Fe. It stopped raining in time to get out & explore the grounds a bit. Plenty of parking and a great view, though I can imagine that on clearer nights, this place would fill up quickly. I can’t hike at the moment due to an injury, so I liked that this was really flat and really easy to walk. Great place to see the 360° view & sunset!
Beautiful little historical spot! Picnic tables for lunch, trash cans, dog bags. Beautiful view up above to see all of Santa Fe and learn history to!
A beautiful and peaceful place to spend time atop the hill at Fort Marcy park. The walk up only takes a few minutes and the views overlooking Santa Fe are well worth it. My favorite place to watch sunset in the city.
Loving this place so much! One of my favorite places. Top places to see and visit in new mexico! Best views, very clean, peaceful and super romantic! Sunrise or sunset or both!
