The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi was built in the late 19th century after a pre-existing 17th century church was destroyed during the Pueblo Revolt.

Today the cathedral is popular for its Romanesque Revival style of construction with beautiful arches separated by Corinthian columns.

Highlights include:

  • Main Nave
  • San Damiano Crucifix

The whole cathedral is loved for its interiors and its classic stained-glass art that oozes 19th century design.

  • Beautiful architecture, art, and ambiance. An integral organization in the community. The free visit is a plus, but you're likely to be impressed enough to leave a donation. Take a moment on your visit to Santa Fe to explore this edifice. Best time? During the Fiesta de Santa Fe in September.

  • Awrsome. The spirit of the Good Lord is upon that place..U will get blessed in a very special way..Check out ul love it...

  • This was an amazing place to visit. The stained glass windows are just beautiful and the whole place looks cared for and loved.

  • I'll admit it feels weird to leave a review of a cathedral but I was so moved by my experience there, I thought I should. We visited during a weekday when we could enter and not disturb any services. The building is beautiful and the stained glass is exquisite. We lit a candle in memory of my Grandma and admired the Stations of the Cross paintings. My littles, 5 and 2 were surprisingly well behaved. The cathedral is a special place.

  • Church is beautiful and everything a basilica should be. The biggest issue was the lady at the front door. She could not have been more hateful and rude. Ruined the entire experience. I understand working with the public but if you are that burned out, please find another job. We drove 900 miles and spent a lot of money for this experience. A hateful comment and rude behavior can ruin everything. Shame on her.
