The cultural center is loved for its wide variety of activities, exhibitions and movies which cover everything about the culture (historic as well as evolving) of America.

Designed by Chilean architect Cristián Undurraga and functioning since 2006, the whole center covers a large part to the south of the Moneda Palace.

The place hosts temporary and permanent exhibitions and also has its own Cinema Theater where you can catch a movie or simple absorb the creativity of the Design gallery and the Tunnel which showcases some of the best art pieces in the region.

  • An amazing place. Great use if space and some exhibitions are free. We went to the paid for exhibition (on whales while we were visiting) which was free before 12. There are slso a couple of nice cafes here and a free bag check (we left all our panniers here while we went round the exhibitions). I think this is a must see if you are in Santiao.

  • Check out the photo gallery exhibits (free admission) and the temporary whales, featuring real bones and a library of whale references from pop culture, literature and comics. You'll learn Chile's sea is more than you ever thought! Also, don't miss the section and shop about Chiloé region's craftsmanship. Great alpaca will items for sale too.

  • Great location, interesting areas of expo and shows, but a bit messy and hard to find what's going on. Amazing lighting.

  • Great location, has beautiful lightning and great expositions on different areas. Entrance is free.

  • Cool place to know Chilean maritimal life and there is a Cinemateca. Entrance is free!! You can see the place Mon-Sun between 9 am and 7:00 pm.
