It is a 12th century Romanesque palace and it is part of Santiago’s Cathedral. It is a bishop palace, located on the north side of the cathedral, facing Praza do Obradoiro. The construction of the palace was commissioned by Archbishop Diego Xelmirez to replace the former residence of the bishop that got demolished.

This palace is accessible only through the door of Praza do Obradoiro. Entering into the palace, the first thing that catches your attention is the Romanesque portoci. On the second floor of the building, you get to see a medieval kitchen, a 13th century hall (used for fiestas and meals). The significant feature of the hall is the corbes, supporting the ribs of the arches.
