Mercado Municipal - Review
From its name, it's quite evident that the Mercado Municipal, is a market. But there's more to the story than just some buying and selling. A designated covered market place since the1930's, the architecture of the hall is what will first lure you into it. Once you've come to terms with the exquisite skylights and the stained glass windows will you then appreciate the sights at eye-level.
The Mercado Municipal is Sao Paulo's largest food and produce market. There is no better sight in the city that encapsulates the architecture, history and some local culture and life as well the Mercado. With over 300 stalls, take time and browse through some local delicacies. Grab a bite at any of the quaint old cafes before you call it a day.

Mercado Municipal, Sao Paulo Reviews
Cool market, nice stained glass. However, do watch out for the FRUIT STANDS! The do make up their weighing prices as they go. If you're after a nice drink, there's a wonderful Craft Beer place that's been opened for 5 years. The staff are friendly, and they have all manners of Brazilian beer - if you like craft beer, this guy knows his stuff!
Located inside a beautiful 1930s building, the market is vibrant. There are many stalls selling interesting fruits and meats, along with tiny bars and restaurants mixed in between. The second floor has some larger restaurants. The vendors are pretty pushy, but that's part of the charm. Worth visiting but it's not in a great part of town.
Great sounds sights and smells but I got stung by the fruit sellers. A real tourist trap. Buyer beware. Good food upstairs though.
Me impresionó lo limpio que está todo a pesar de ser un mercado popular. Los aromas de las frutas son increíbles y solo se comparan con los sabores de las comidas que hay dentro.
What a brilliant market where the shopkeepers are more than keen to help a ‘gringo’ with plenty of samples of exotic fruits! There’s so much to try from strawberry to dragonfruit to mango and a whole lot more. Apart from fruit, you can pretty much buy any culinary ingredient. The second level provides great views and there are heaps of places to eat if you’re not full already from the fruit samples
