Mercado Municipal, Sao Paulo Reviews
Nice food markt with fruit, vegetables, cheese and meat. Nice to wander around even though feels a bit like a tourist place. The area around the market does not feel safe at all. The walk from Luz metro station to the market was rather disturbing, once inside it felt safe. Best grab a taxi to get there.
Famous tourist point of São Paulo. Wide variety of fruits that stand out by color and aroma, not to mention the option to buy them as a dessert in special cuts or in pots like fruit salad.
This is an all time favorite, swing by the experience the wonderful flavors of tropical Brazilian fruits and juices. Several bakeries to chose from delicious freshly baked breads, cakes and cookies. You have to try the famous Sao Paulo staple Mortadela Sandwich and a stupid cold draft beer! If you haven't visited this place you don't know anything about Sao Paulo the their people!
Nice for tourists that are able to see and taste a lot of our local fruits. The price price point is really high and locals would definitely shop elsewhere. Unfortunately the surrounding neighborhood is very dirty and foreigners should be cautious of going there alone.
This is a cool indoor market with many fruit and vegetable stands. There are also some stands selling meals on the first level. On the second floor, there are only restaurants but the lines were so long we didn't try any of them. We bought fruit from downstairs that they charge per kilo. We ended up buying one kilo of fruit but it was expensive! $30 (in USD) for not much fruit. The mango and dates were amazing though and made it worth it!
