Gira Waterfalls - Review

These large, picturesque waterfalls are located along the Ambica River in Gujrat. The water falls 30 meters into the ponds and offer breath-taking views during the monsoons. You can sit on a nearby rock and hear the gushing sound of water as it falls into the river against the backdrop of lush green forest. There are a few shops located near the entrance that sell local handicrafts and souvenir. There are also a few eateries that sell hot noodles and coffee.

  • This is awesome in the monsoons. The swollen waterfall is a delight to watch. Parking facilities are available in plenty. You can park it on the roadside before you take a turn to the falls. Or else there are 2 parking slots available- one halfway through and the other near the falls. They demand 30 rupees for the midway parking and 50 for the one near the falls. Stalls that sell corn cobs and toys dot the way right up to the falls. During monsoons you are not allowed to enter the water. They put a barricade and security personnel keep a constant vigil. Elderly people may find it a bit tough to navigate their way from the parking lot to the falls. But then you can purchase bamboo sticks available there for support. Note that there are absolutely no restrooms there. Gira falls is a must visit in the monsoon season.

  • Best to visit in monsoon only. Parking facility available. Restaurants and snack stalls are there. Great green atmosphere in monsoon. The fall is wide and long in monsoon. U can purchase Local handicraft items made from bamboos. Good picnic spot.

  • Waterfall in the lap of nature. Nice place to have a cute little picnic alongside river and water streams. Place also have a good shopping corner with handicrafts made from bamboo. Usually waterfall is full during peak monsoons upto mid winters.

  • Must visit place. Awesome waterfall. It is the visitor's responsibility to maintain cleanliness of this Amazing place. It hurts when u see lot of plastic west, Makai & other dirty things thrown all around the falls. Authority should put so many dustbins near the waterfalls.

  • In monsoon this waterfall has it's own charm. But because of many accidents in the past you are not allowed to go close to water. But the view was splendid. #Amazing atmosphere #girafall
