Saputara Tribal Museum, Saputara Reviews
Tribal Communities are shy of others and tend to remain aloof, with the result outsiders know little of them, their belief and their customs. There is good amount of information contained for those who are keen to know about the Indian tribes. Dangs is a tribal district in Gujarat is surrounded by teaks and bamboo and Saputara is a part of the district. The Museum in Dangs contains the information about the lifestyle, living habits, ornaments worn, weapons, deities and festivals, utensils etc. of the various tribes. By visiting the museum one can relate that nowhere else does man have such an intimate relationship with nature as in the tribal heartland. Well, the museum also needs more maintenance and interior works. A lot more information can be added to the museum so that visitors/people are able to have a better understand their lifestyle. People should definitely visit when they are in Saputara.
A good museum to have a look on the history of local tribes and ancient people. Ancient weapons and tools are on display here. A small science museum is also present there. There is a scope of maintenance.
Nothing much to see. Unmaintained building. You can go if u like to see some ancient things used by various tribal people.
A decent place which could really use some makeover. The management is not upkeeping the place properly. But it does contain some nice exhibits. Overall a good place for a quick stopover. Entry fees is minimal. Unfortunately, the museum toilets are closed for God knows what reason.
In its worst sgate. Water dripping everywhere ruining everything. Has good collection though not intresting enough. What it needs is first attention of concermed autjorities, then a good renovation followed by adding far more intresting collection. Saputara is a great travellers spot and if done well the Museum can add more value to this place
