This park is rightly regarded as one of the most pleasant parks in the US with the most beautiful surroundings and views. This is a conifer eco region mostly that is spread over a huge area and consists of a very colorful variety of flora and fauna. You will get lost into the charm of this wetland area as soon as you enter the park. This is no doubt one of the best attractions of the city.
The diversity of climates and soil is eye catching in here with a little bit of everything starting from wetlands to soil areas, woodlands, conifer forests grasslands or prairies and so much more. The main species of plants that can be spotted here are longleaf pines, dry shrubs, cypress and many more apart from the precious herbal plants that are completely unexploited in this paradise on earth. There is also a huge variety of amphibians, fishes, reptiles, birds and mammals such as hammocks, roseate spoonbills, wood stork, blue heron, egrets, alligators, stilts, etc.
This river park has a very good system of biking and walking trails that consists of 6 campgrounds known as mossy hammock, Bee Island, Panther Point, Honore, Oak Grove and Prairie. Horseback riding is also permitted in certain areas where the vegetation is considerably lower than the other parts. As you take your steps towards the park from the main road you will come across the lovely canopy walkway over here that is a suspension bridge from where you can get the most spectacular aerial views of the beautiful park.

I'm a 100% disabled veteran. Does my wife and I have to pay to get in?Answer Report Abuse
Florida residents who have a 100% disability award certificate from the Federal Government are allowed to have a 50 percent discount on the current case campsite fees. I am not sure if the same is applicable on the regular admission fee. It is recommended that you call on 1 941-361-6511 and inquire about it further.Report Abuse
