Sasaram (Hindi: सासाराम, Urdu: سسرام), sometimes also spelled as Sahsaram, is the administrative headquarter of the Rohtas district in the Indian state of Bihar. Rohtas, an historical place, became a District, carved out of the district of Shahabad, in the year 1972. It is famous for production of stone chips, and for quarrying industry.
