Are you a history buff who is on tour of the state of Maharashtra? Then Char Bhinti Hutatma Smarak, located in the district of Satara, is a great stop for you. A slice of India’s wonderful history awaits you here. It is situated on the way to the famous Ajinkyatara fort and offers great views of the Satara city. The place has two historical stories related to it. First is that its was built by Chhatrapati Pratapsingh Maharaj in 1830 so that his family members can have a good view of his arrival in the city. Another thing associated to this monument is that it honors the freedom fighters of 1857. They are Rani Lakshmibai, Tatya Tope, Rango Bapuji Gupte and others who were the natives of Maharashtra. It was constructed after the completion of this famous freedom struggle.
