If ever you visit San Francisco and are looking for one of the best views in the world full of rich culture and history, head to Fort Baker. It offers some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge and an incredible view across the bay at San Francisco. Fort Baker is a historic army post, that was built in the early 1900’s. It’s now a park within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is not a typical sandy beach, but it’s a good place to put in a kayak for a trip to Sausalito and back. If you are not into water sports, the park has many other things to enjoy. There are several viewpoints and picnic tables. If you have children, they can also visit Bay Area Discovery Museum. It has exhibits, art and a very imaginative playground that will appeal to children. If you’d like a more adult experience, visit the Cavallo Point Lodge, which occupies the entire main grounds of the fort. Treat yourself to a lavish breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a Sunday brunch in their bar and dining room.
