Nestled in Montangnette, is the Frigolet Abbey whose name has been taken from “ferigoule”, the Provençal word for thyme that grows literally everywhere on the hills there. In the beginning, this was just a simple priory but it soon grew and a lot of changes were made to it. It was even transformed to a boarding school but later, a highly decorated neo-Gothic church was constructed and pilgrims flocked in huge numbers. The architectural brilliance of the Abbey is worth admiring and you would be left stunned by its splendour. On this day, the Frigolet Abbey is open for tours and also welcomes people who wish to find tranquillity and solace for a maximum of eight days.
