The Island Beach State Park is New Jersey’s largest reserve of Barrier Island that’s undeveloped and safeguards a number of natural shoreline and other habitats that are near to the shore. The park consists of nearly 10 miles of beautiful sandy beach, rolling sand dunes, a wide shoreline, dense forests and tidal marshes. Encompassing such varied habitats, the park is also home to over four hundred species of plants as well as wildlife including ospreys, foxes, and more. Most of the people visit to enjoy surf fishing, to swim in the ocean or to admire the spellbinding view of the Barnegat Lighthouse. The Island Beach State Park is absolutely tranquil and serene and makes for an ideal place to sit back, enjoy the splendid views and relax.

  • I just love this place. It's the perfect beach to be with the family and to go fishing it's beautiful there you can watch the sun rise and the sun set right from the beach you can camp out overnight and you can go there anytime of the day or night all year round as long as you have a pass

  • Great shoal area on bayside to boat and hang out. Nice sandy bottom, shallow water, easy to play water games and keep cool. Rustic facilities on shore. Further north on beach side are modern bath houses and restrooms with nature center. Lifeguard at this area, other beach areas are swim at your own risk. Overall, great beach area with something for everyone.

  • One of the most beautiful spots in all of New Jersey if not the east coast. Drive past the swimming area parking lots to experience pristine beaches and lovely scenery (no swimming here though). If you drive all the way to the end of the road, park and walk south a mile or so, you'll reach the inlet between the two barrier islands and have a beautiful view of the Barnegat lighthouse. Fishing is great down here too. Come visit this place!!!!

  • Loved it!! Beach was clean we grilled put up tents kids had an amazing time people friendly. Definitely making another trip. It is a HIKE if you are carrying things from parking sections further down strip so be prepared lol

  • I like going to this beach. It is less crowded and the waves are more fun. The Red Fox restaurant also makes a pretty solid fish sandwich!
