Seaside Tourism

Seaside is a city in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. The name Seaside is derived from Seaside House, a historic summer resort built in the 1870s by railroad magnate Ben Holladay. The city's population was 6,457 at the 2010 census.

Seaside has a two-mile-long Promenade with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The Seaside Aquarium protects various regional species found in the Oregon waters. You can see the salt-making cairn set up by the Lewis and Clark Salt Works across the Promenade. All across town, you will see murals depicting the life and history of the residents of Seaside. The Salt Maker’s Return Festival is held in August every year to celebrate the history of the momentous salt making expedition undertaken by the men of Lewis and Clark.
