For those who love flowers or beautiful floral arrangement, Seattle has something wonderful in store for you. Imagine a garden or an installation that mimics these beautiful arrangements? That's what you'll find at Chihuly Garden and Glass! Blown glass art installations and the beautiful use of lighting and colours to give you a feeling of walking in a beautiful flower garden when in fact it is glass sculpture. With Chihuly's technique in glass blowing is unique but he finds inspiration from the natural world or the old cultures of the world and interprets it into his work. There are works inspired by Novajo blankets painted onto glass or chandeliers made of a lot of smaller crafted units that are assembled together.

In the theater, they show you videos about the thought process and method of execution when creating these glass beauties and interviews with Chihuly. The garden area has the sculptures as if in a real park and it is a splendid sight. Perhaps one of the most interesting bit about this place is that the effect of the glass work changes with the time of the day. The light reflected onto the glass brings out a completely different and seems like something completely out of a fantasy world.

They have a gift shop selling prints of Chihuly’s collections and his artwork. The Collections Cafe serves delicacies from various parts of the world where Chihuly traveled but with a Northwestern twist. The Chihuly’s Garden and Glass is an experience for the eyes and the heart.

  • What an experience. When my friend told me about the glass museum I wasn't amused. I thought to myself this is just a regular museum and that I'd be bored but boy wasn't i wrong. Literally from the beginning my jaw dropped from the beauty of his work. It is truly mesmerizing. It was honestly worth the $22. You can also pay $36 and see the space needle too. The staff was really helpful and answered all our questions. In the garden there's a glass blowing show every hour and it was really interesting to see a bowl or a vase made in front of you. It really showed it takes a lot of talent, dedication and patience to blow glass. The whole thing takes about an hour or two depending how much time you spend appreciating and enjoying the wonderful persian ceiling or the chandeliers. Truly amazing. Can't praise it enough. This is a must go.

  • This art never fails to inspire my creativity and daydreaming; even if I've seen it before! I love the flow of the museum layout and really enjoyed watching the glass blowing outside in the cold, as the warmth from the fires and flame really leave an impacting realization that the glass blowers themselves have to work with that! Eye opening and mind wandering place!

  • This is such an incredible gallery. If you are curious at all about the process, or more about the concept behind each room, I highly recommend listing to the audio tour. My wife didn't want to at first, but then loved the things we learned listening to it. The chandeliers weigh 500-1000 LBS?!? This place was incredible. Beautiful.

  • I found this place totally amazing! My good friends took us here while we were there for a wedding reception. I was so surprised by the detail and extent of the work. Amazing! If you are going to the space Needle do not cheat yourself and skip this place. You will be sorry. Deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Hands down the best museum in Seattle! I love this place so much. It really creates a world for you; sets a scene in glass that you can wander through and explore. Get up close and personal with the master artist's work, you won't regret it.
