For those who love flowers or beautiful floral arrangement, Seattle has something wonderful in store for you. Imagine a garden or an installation that mimics these beautiful arrangements? That's what you'll find at Chihuly Garden and Glass! Blown glass art installations and the beautiful use of lighting and colours to give you a feeling of walking in a beautiful flower garden when in fact it is glass sculpture. With Chihuly's technique in glass blowing is unique but he finds inspiration from the natural world or the old cultures of the world and interprets it into his work. There are works inspired by Novajo blankets painted onto glass or chandeliers made of a lot of smaller crafted units that are assembled together.

In the theater, they show you videos about the thought process and method of execution when creating these glass beauties and interviews with Chihuly. The garden area has the sculptures as if in a real park and it is a splendid sight. Perhaps one of the most interesting bit about this place is that the effect of the glass work changes with the time of the day. The light reflected onto the glass brings out a completely different and seems like something completely out of a fantasy world.

They have a gift shop selling prints of Chihuly’s collections and his artwork. The Collections Cafe serves delicacies from various parts of the world where Chihuly traveled but with a Northwestern twist. The Chihuly’s Garden and Glass is an experience for the eyes and the heart.

  • A must see when in Seattle. This guy is a genius. I'm not easily impressed by art, but this has the wow factor. His artwork is presented in a series of rooms, and THEN when you think it can't get any better, it does in both the conservatory and the garden. You can save by purchasing a combo ticket for the Space Needle and this permanent exhibit. Both attractions are adjacent. Or Google Seattle City pass where for $79 you get access to those 2 attractions + 3 more.

  • This place is pricey and my wife and I hardly ever enjoy spending up to $20 to simply walk around a place. We went for it on this place and we will never regret it. So much incredible art work. We couldn't hold back our amazement as we walked into each room. We have encouraged others to go now as well. The tour is well worth it, but you are going to want to buy something in the end so you can take a little piece back to your home.

  • Definitely worth checking out! Even if you're not the biggest fan of sculpture, many of the displays will take you by surprise. Chihuly uses glass in interesting and innovating ways. Look closely at the many different details. Go before 10 AM to get a $10 discount. Note: once you leave, you can't come back in!

  • Chihuly Garden was incredible. Every room was set up in an amazing and eye-catching way. It was not very big but we took our time in every room looking at all the details. These sculptures are so photogenic you can't help but take pictures the whole time you are there.

  • You'll never look at glass the same again after you see what Dale Chihuly has created. The Chihuly Garden and Class should absolutely be on your list of places to visit in Seattle. You can spend an hour here easily looking around. If you watch the glass blowing demonstration and film then count on two hours here. The location is easy to find, just look for the Space Needle.
