For those who love flowers or beautiful floral arrangement, Seattle has something wonderful in store for you. Imagine a garden or an installation that mimics these beautiful arrangements? That's what you'll find at Chihuly Garden and Glass! Blown glass art installations and the beautiful use of lighting and colours to give you a feeling of walking in a beautiful flower garden when in fact it is glass sculpture. With Chihuly's technique in glass blowing is unique but he finds inspiration from the natural world or the old cultures of the world and interprets it into his work. There are works inspired by Novajo blankets painted onto glass or chandeliers made of a lot of smaller crafted units that are assembled together.
In the theater, they show you videos about the thought process and method of execution when creating these glass beauties and interviews with Chihuly. The garden area has the sculptures as if in a real park and it is a splendid sight. Perhaps one of the most interesting bit about this place is that the effect of the glass work changes with the time of the day. The light reflected onto the glass brings out a completely different and seems like something completely out of a fantasy world.
They have a gift shop selling prints of Chihuly’s collections and his artwork. The Collections Cafe serves delicacies from various parts of the world where Chihuly traveled but with a Northwestern twist. The Chihuly’s Garden and Glass is an experience for the eyes and the heart.

Its amazing how they made so many beautiful sculptures out of glass! This is a place that shows the height of imagination of human mind. I have never seen such creative work made by glass. A spectacular exhibit of creativity. My half a day was well spent. A magical place that should not be missed in Seattle
Beautiful artwork. Walking into some of these exhibits is like walking onto another planet. Getting to understand the relationship between glass art and nature is very interesting. Take the time to watch a few of the films about the artist in the Theater. The (about hourly) glass blowing demonstrations at the Hot Shop are really cool as well. Don't miss this when you come to Seattle Center.
A nice museum for Chihuly glass. Personally I'm not a huge fan, but the atmosphere is nice and the price is reasonable. Last I checked I think it was around $25 to go through and see all the Chihuly glass and paintings. Worth checking out if you have time to kill around Seattle center, walking through took roughly 60-90 min, although to a bigger fan it might take longer.
Amazing museum with a relatively high admission fee but wow the glass inside is awesome. Tons of extremely creative works of art. I highly recommend the art blowing demonstration. It is a absolutely amazing to see these amazing craftsmen create a bowl from a ball of molten glass.
It was an absolutely breathtaking exhibit. Every room breathes new life and feeling into you as you experience his work up-close and personal. We were also lucky enough to check out a live glass blowing demonstration, which was absolutely fascinating and a welcomed surprise!
