For those who love flowers or beautiful floral arrangement, Seattle has something wonderful in store for you. Imagine a garden or an installation that mimics these beautiful arrangements? That's what you'll find at Chihuly Garden and Glass! Blown glass art installations and the beautiful use of lighting and colours to give you a feeling of walking in a beautiful flower garden when in fact it is glass sculpture. With Chihuly's technique in glass blowing is unique but he finds inspiration from the natural world or the old cultures of the world and interprets it into his work. There are works inspired by Novajo blankets painted onto glass or chandeliers made of a lot of smaller crafted units that are assembled together.

In the theater, they show you videos about the thought process and method of execution when creating these glass beauties and interviews with Chihuly. The garden area has the sculptures as if in a real park and it is a splendid sight. Perhaps one of the most interesting bit about this place is that the effect of the glass work changes with the time of the day. The light reflected onto the glass brings out a completely different and seems like something completely out of a fantasy world.

They have a gift shop selling prints of Chihuly’s collections and his artwork. The Collections Cafe serves delicacies from various parts of the world where Chihuly traveled but with a Northwestern twist. The Chihuly’s Garden and Glass is an experience for the eyes and the heart.

  • Great and fun day visiting. Really nice art work. Loved the Persian Ceiling and the outdoor exhibits. Outstanding exhibits all the way around. Well-managed museum and well-worth the visit. Just be careful not to touch and break the delicate, expensive glass artwork! Take your camera or take pictures with the photographers on-site who will take and email you your pictures for free! 👍

  • Awesome experience!! Would recommend to anyone that would appreciate the beauty of glass. The glass itself is amazing, and the the careful placement of the lights presents the glass to its best. In the dark room, it is all about embrace art and yourself. While in the nature, it is about blending in, and enjoy the nature. Sometimes, you could not tell whether it is glass or a plant, it is just like a foreign planet you happen to step in.

  • We loved It! My son, daughter, and I visited the day after Thanksgiving. I was excited to go but had no idea how amazing it would really be. What talent, what imagination! I will definitely go back!

  • I was amazed and chilled by the work in this museum. I have never seen glass so artfully created and turned into giant pieces of indoor and outdoor out. The chandeliers and trees made of glass made me wish I could afford to buy just one of them. Simply amazing! A definite must see. Use City Pass and the price is worth it.

  • The tickets are a bit pricey but the experience is incredible. The exhibits are wonderfully curated. The staff spend far too much time telling patrons DON'T TOUCH THE ART PLEASE, yet are friendly and knowledgeable. Each exhibit is magical, with enough information provided to offer a behind the scenes view. If you bring headphones you can listen to an additional audio tour on your phone. I wanted to spend the entire day just experiencing every aspect of Chihuly's art and process. The garden is worth braving Seattle's passive-aggressive rain. The gift shop is thorough, if over-priced, but what gift shop isn't?
