For those who love flowers or beautiful floral arrangement, Seattle has something wonderful in store for you. Imagine a garden or an installation that mimics these beautiful arrangements? That's what you'll find at Chihuly Garden and Glass! Blown glass art installations and the beautiful use of lighting and colours to give you a feeling of walking in a beautiful flower garden when in fact it is glass sculpture. With Chihuly's technique in glass blowing is unique but he finds inspiration from the natural world or the old cultures of the world and interprets it into his work. There are works inspired by Novajo blankets painted onto glass or chandeliers made of a lot of smaller crafted units that are assembled together.

In the theater, they show you videos about the thought process and method of execution when creating these glass beauties and interviews with Chihuly. The garden area has the sculptures as if in a real park and it is a splendid sight. Perhaps one of the most interesting bit about this place is that the effect of the glass work changes with the time of the day. The light reflected onto the glass brings out a completely different and seems like something completely out of a fantasy world.

They have a gift shop selling prints of Chihuly’s collections and his artwork. The Collections Cafe serves delicacies from various parts of the world where Chihuly traveled but with a Northwestern twist. The Chihuly’s Garden and Glass is an experience for the eyes and the heart.

  • This place is pricey and my wife and I hardly ever enjoy spending up to $20 to simply walk around a place. We went for it on this place and we will never regret it. So much incredible art work. We couldn't hold back our amazement as we walked into each room. We have encouraged others to go now as well. The tour is well worth it, but you are going to want to buy something in the end so you can take a little piece back to your home.

  • This place took me by absolute surprise, and I didn't want to leave. The pieces in all of the rooms and outside gardens are just jaw-dropping and spectacular. Some of the rooms have photographers in them and they offer complimentary photos which was awesome. I recommend going early to avoid the crowd and to have more time to experience each room. Of all the places I visited in Seattle, it was my absolute favorite.

  • What a beautiful & peaceful experience, the art in here is phenomenal! I've been wanting to visit for quite some time because there are a couple of pieces on display at a green house I frequent. My favorite part was watching the glass blowing demonstration, they were very thoughtful in explaining how everything is done & the science / mechanics behind everything. I would recommend stopping by when they are making their little bowl. It really makes you think about the many hours that goes into each enormous piece that they have on display there. If you are in Seattle do not skip this place!

  • Amazing display of Chihuly art over his years of creating. The work is inside a museum with controlled lighting, then in a glass atrium, and finally in an open garden. The garden is planted to enhance the display of the glass. Well worth your time if you enjoy blown glass as art. 12 of us went. Some spent a half hour, and 4 of us spent 4 hours.

  • It's beautiful. Worth the trip. Such lovely work of glass art, it's amazing!! They also have photographers inside who will take a picture for you and you can have it mailed to you, it's totally free. ☺️
