  • The smoothest Americano I have ever had. Ever. Ever, ever. The ambiance of the place is really calming, & their vegan pastries are pretty impressive. They also have a fascinating selection of literature to choose from to better assist the coffee enthusiast in their better coffee-making/creating pursuits.

  • Excellent cappuccino/macchiato. Easy to find a place to sit. The decor is simple and unassuming.

  • By far the best trained and practicing baristas in Seattle, slinging what may be the most well thought out coffee preparation and presentation available to the general public. Espresso Vivace is a strong and defiant coffee business that has been around since Seattle's coffee cart days in the 90's, and along with other local businesses "walks the walk," in conscientious coffee bean buying atop. The baristas at vivace can go from gear to gear: If you order an iced latte for example, you won't get the same beans as cappuccino, or hot preps. Go refined and order a shot of espresso with a twist of lemon and they know what to do and how to serve it. The proprietor has literally written the books on how to do the business.

  • Cappuccinos here are perfection. Having moved to LA, there's really nothing that comes close. Nice spacious seating for groups or just on your own.

  • Best Italian-style espresso in town. You won't get a fruity, winey single origin cup here. It's all about a darkly roasted, expertly pulled shot with smoky, malty notes and a perfect crema: low in bitterness and so drinkable, even if you usually find straight espresso a challenge. It's a disservice to the artistry of this place to ask for an americano: you'll find it off, and (surprise!) watery. (Go to Victrola for the best americano...)
