The Fremont Troll, AKA the Troll Under The Bridge is a sculpture in the Fremont neighbourhood of Seattle. With unique features and a tribute to the ‘trolls’ of the neighbourhood, the sculpture attracts hordes of crowds! A perfectly wacky place for a selfie or an instagram picture! The Troll was sculpted by four local artists: Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter, and Ross Whitehead and is 18 ft. high. It weighs around 6,000 kg. and is made of steel rebar, wire, and concrete.
The idea of the ‘troll’ was said to be derived from the Scandinavian fairytale, named Three Billy Goats Gruff. The concept of this statue came up in 1990 to transform the dumping ground and drug dealer’s den under the bridge into a creative spot.

Fremont Troll, Seattle Reviews - Write a Review
Super cool. Only need to spend 5-10 minutes here, but def worth it for the photo. I wish there were more cool places like this. Kudos to Fremont for deciding to better their neighborhood through art.
I wouldn't go out of my way to pay this ugly troll a visit, but it was worth a quick and decent photo op. And we were on our way to Gas Works Park, so why not? Parking was not too bad on the surrounding streets because people don't stay too long. Be patient, there will be people climbing all over and swarming the poor guy for a picture, especially on the weekends. Type in "The Fremont Troll" on Google Maps to lead yourself right to it. Cool fact: Mr. Ugly Troll is holding what appears to be a vintage Volkswagen Beetle under his left hand. Not sure if real or not.
We heard lots of people talking about the Fremont Troll and it was something to check out fosho! Was exploring the Fremont area and was on the list to see. Definitely cool and attracted lots of people to it. A must see because you'll probably never see anything like it!
A bit overrated. But cool to see. We were on a bike ride on the path and missed it. Not that easy to see from bike path. Make sure you know where it is. You have to go up a street.
It's a troll!! Luckily you don't need to pay the troll an toll to cross haha. Overall, this is a nice stop if you are visiting Seattle. We went at night around 9-10pm so we had the entire place to ourselves. I heard that it's pretty packed during the day. So go at night if you can so you can have the place to yourselves.
