Golden Gardens Park, Seattle Reviews - Write a Review
A windy, lightly wooded stretch of beach with a view of the whole of the sound. Duck ponds, beaver signs, and distant commercial barges catch the eyes, and your head gets cleared by the cold Olympic air. Pretty nice place, I think!
Golden Garden is so beautiful!! Completely worth the short drive from Seattle! It's like a completely different atmosphere. The beach is usually pretty full, but it's big enough to find your personal space. You can BBQ and enjoy the ocean breeze.
Golden Gardens has been one of my favorite places for over 50 years. It doesn't hurt that I can walk there now, though I usually drive, rather than down & up multiple long flights of stairs. I still like the stairs, though. The lower park offers beach walks, paved walks, train-watching. The upper park offers forested trails. At low tide, you can walk to Carkeek Park and points north, but check the tide predictions first - look for "Meadow Point."
Excellent park to catch some beach time in Seattle. You can reserve a picnic table in advance if you want to host a party here. There's a nice playground for the kids, a big field to romp or play, and a good spot to watch the marine traffic big and small. There are fire-pits on the beach if you like a bonfire in the evenings. (The concession stand also has an exceptional hotdog).
What's the point of living next to a big body of water if you don't go visit? Golden Gardens is awesome, tons to do and lots of space to do it. I love going here every time i'm there.
