Lake Union is the infamous fresh water lake situated within Seattle. This 580 acre urban lake offers everything, from kayaking to stand-up paddling to boat tours. The shore of this lake includes the Gas Works Park, the small Centre for Wooden Boats, the Museum of History and Industry, and countless restaurants. Sea Planes take off and land frequently. One can also find many house boats and floating houses (there is a difference) at the lake, the famous house being the place where Tom Hanks lives in the movie Sleepless in Seattle.
