By their own claim, this is the largest police museum in western USA. The museum explores the founding, history and legacy of the Seattle Police Department. It also explores the department's cultural and technological interactions and evolutions. To this end, the museum utilises photographs, documents, weaponry, uniforms from the late 19th century onwards. The exhibit is surprisingly engaging.

  • We were walking around looking at places of interest to go to and I saw this one online and wanted to go. When we got there it was closed and a sign on the door that said until further notice you have to schedule an appointment to tour the museum. We didn't get to go in which was disappointing.

  • As a collector of law enforcement memorabilia, I loved this place. It is small enough that the mildly interested can have an affordable look around and glean some interesting bit of history. It is also large enough that collectors and cops can spend hours inside. The badge collection is especially impressive. As many collectors know, real police badges are very difficult to come by. If you have time to see a few attraction in downtown Seattle, I highly recommend adding this one to your list.

  • Lots of really cool historical police artifacts

  • "Until further notice visiting the Police Museum will be done by appointment only"
